There's so much we still don't know! ^_^
Sure, a lot of scientists act like everything has been answered. All the great mysteries have been solved.
NOT!
Okay, let me start off by saying that I rather doubt that aliens are trying to communicate with us through crop circles or that people get abducted for experiments and alien pregnancies. I do contend, though, that there is something rather odd about some of the radioactive/meteorological evidence left at crop circle sites.
I also hold out the possibility that a marine creature from the age of the dinosaurs or thereabouts survived to the present day and is currently living in such lakes as Loch Ness. Similar creatures have been seen in lakes around the world in a well defined climate zone. And there have been bodies recovered and sent for examination. They usually get thrown out as whale fetuses as soon as they're unpacked. pfff I've seen the photos and the people who've found them have been professional whalers and fishermen. You'd think they'd know the difference between a strange creature and a whale fetus.
And the photos were unlike any whale *I've* ever seen.
But one thing that has caught my eye recently is sasquatch, a.k.a. Big Foot. Namely in a documentary I caught part of on Discovery. I found a link to a write up on the film.
Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science
It was so cool. For one thing, they had a whole lot of people, scientists, forensic examiners, finger print experts, and such on the research project. They found that there were footprints all over the place and the sizes and shapes of the footprints had well defined demographics. Something that wouldn't be possible if they were all hoaxes. (Unless you want to assume they're very well organized hoaxes.) The gait in video evidence indicates something non-human but definitely primate, and showed soft tissue erregularities inconsistent with a guy in a monkey suit.
So cool! =^-^= eeeeeeeeeeee!
A still from the Paterson Film, which was featured on the documentary. It produced a lot of valuable evidence, including an opportunity for examiners to develop a 3D rendering of it's probably skeletal structure. I tell you, that in itself was beyond cool.
The site also has a rather badly compressed RealMedia clip of a Redwood siting.
Page with clips There's the full clip and enhanced footage. It's kinda surreal.
Does this mean the missing link is living in the woods of North America? Maybe not, but there does seem to be something out there. And people are seeing it.
The problem with mysteries like this is there's so much faking. Do a google search and you'll find some real weird stuff put together by some major weirdos with way too much time on their hands.

There's a Hong Kong big shot who may need to get his priorities straight.
I got this from the Fargo Forum Thursday February 2. (Yeah, yeah, I'm just getting to last weeks newspapers now. I got busy, okay?)
Apparently Hong Kong's wealthiest man is a widower, and four people broke into his dead wife's tomb that previous Monday.
Here's the good part:
"'They have committed a double sin,' Li told reporters Wednesday after visiting Li Chong Yuet-ming's damaged tomb. 'They didn't get the riches, and -- if they believe in karma -- they wouldn't have peace for the rest of their lives.'"
HELLO??!!!?!
Never mind desecrating a grave, their first sin was not getting any loot?

Really? I'll take your word for it.
My actual name would be written this way in Hiragana , this way in Katakana , and this way in Kanji . The last would be pronounced yukai.
My screen name, Brigid, would be ... mangled. Does Burijitto sound anything like Brigid? Seems that's as close as the Japanese language can get, though.
ARTIST you have a touch with the internal. most of the time your physical appearance may lack due to a more intense focus on the beauty of the world around you. you may be gifted in that everything you touch becomes more appealing, able to draw pictures or coordinate colors, or you have a way with written words that can move the coldest heart. you are very aware of your feelings, which can cause you to lapse into stages of depression occassionally. you can also sympathize with other's feelings.

Strange ghost story

There's a suburb in the South that's built over an old African American graveyard. Most of the people were former slaves. Some of the people who moved there found the graves. One couple heard about the graves and curious, they dug up them up. It was a married couple. Plagued by guilt they reburied the bodies and planted a guarden.
Another couple couldn't plant anything in their yard and sinkholes shaped like two coffins kept appearing, no matter how often they filled them in. Soon they found out that two sisters were buried there. They learned this from the brother who dug the graves.
Both couples started experiencing strange things. Especially the people whose house was over the sisters.
The strange things turned malicious, then deadly.
It all started small, an unplugged clock sparking and glowing. Cold spots. Noises. Toilets flushing themselves.
The woman who lived over the sisters was plagued by feelings of forboding.
Her husband was sick of it and wanted to fight. Then late one night he saw two shadows moving through the house. He followed them to the bedroom, inside he only saw one near the bed. Fearing it was messing with his wife he lunged at it. (Stupid.) He landed on the bed feeling sticky and cold. Days later members of his family started coming down with cancer, three died.
They were angry, the woman decided to dig up the bodies to prove to the city that there were graves there and make them do something. She dug and started feeling sick. Her daughter took over and began feeling dizzy. She succumbed to a heart attack and died.
What I wonder is why the ghosts were so angry. The people were respectful of the graves they found until their experiences made them want to fight back. They already felt guilty, even though nothing was their fault.
Why the maliciousness? What was it these spirits wanted?
This is one of those cases where I wish I could've gone there and explored. Perhaps I could have learned something. Maybe I could've discovered something that would put these spirits to rest.Current Mood: confused Current Music: (watching Unsolved Mysteries)

Anyway, onward!
Your element is Fire. Like fire, you have a hot temper and you can be warm and loving as well and angry and wild. It all really comes down to what you are feeling. You have a lot of close friends who you are very protective over, and with your temper probably some enemies too. You are not Miss/Mr Popular in school since you are your own person and don't want to be forced into behaving this or that way. You are the untamed wild horse, the kind that everyone wants to catch. But you don't want to be tied down for the moment and just keep going with your little crushes. Your will is strong and if you set your mind to do something, you will most likely succeed. But beware, your friends may not always accept your mood-swinging behaviour. Even if you don't mean to be mean, they can still feel hurt. You just need to start thinking some things through before you do them, and not always jump in with so much courage. One day you may be hurt because of that, but then again, your element isn't fire if you start to analyse situations before you act. After all, your nature is to shoot first and ask the questions later. Rate and message!

Wow. This is a lot like me. Right down to the mood swings. Wow.
People see intelligence in your eyes. You probably enjoy reading a good book and are pretty good at outsmarting people. You like finding the meaning behind things and you know how to hold an intellectual conversation. The downside of this is that people can mistake you for a nerd or people who aren't as smart as you will get angry and try to bring you down. Don't let them, though! You should prize your intelligence and not worry about what those people think. Btw...can you help me with my homework?
What can people see in your eyes?(great ANIME pics)((IMPROVED!!!)) brought to you by Quizilla
I'm a geek! ^-^
Now for sweet little Giol:
Your element is Light. Your heart is pure and shining with love. You believe in the goodness of those around you and give almost everyone a smile. You are not the kind to hide your happiness and tend to smile all day long, both in and out. But when sadness hits you, you become very devastated and may be upset for quite some time. What you need in your life is friends, friends who will love you unconditionally, like you love them. But you have a naive nature and don't always notice when someone is trying to hurt you. Some would say you are oblivious to mean people, which makes you an easy target. However, your true friends will probably be there for you and save you. In school you are either the popular one or the little weird one. It all depends if "the higher people" find your caring side irritating or not. Nevertheless, you have a bubbly personality and are social. Big partys may not be your thing since you want bonding time with your friends, so slumber-partys fit you more. You like the happy things in life and like everyone else to be as happy as you are. Rate and message!
What is your element? [with pics + detailed answeres] brought to you by Quizilla
This is getting sickening...
People see calmness in your eyes. You like to keep cool in a crisis. You know that if you don't panic, things will be worked out much quicker and with fewer hitches. People probably end up feeling less worried when they are around you. You've got a good attitude. Keep it up.

Seems strange at first, but then again it does fit. Argu's just better at controlling his emotions than I am. >.> Hey! He has a 1,978 year head start on me!
People see nothing in your eyes. You seem to either be indifferent about everything or are trying to cover up a lot of pain. Your eyes have a cold stare that can make people shiver. Try to show a little more caring, because your hard exterior most likely drives people away. ...stop looking at me like that...stoppit!
What can people see in your eyes?(great ANIME pics)((IMPROVED!!!)) brought to you by Quizilla
Yeah. I definitely think I'm making him a little to angsty. (Of course, that might not necessarily be a bad thing.)
Oh, something totally different. Have you heard about crop circles? I saw a documentary on them where a bunch of MIT students tried to duplicate some of the stranger characteristics of "bonified" crop circles. Things like electrical disturbances, expulsion cavities in the nodes, and tiny iron particles consistent with meteorites.
They managed it, with a microwave gun, a meteor cannon, and some pyrotechnics. All barely under the four-hour deadline and having created a very simple design.
Thing is, what prankster would go to all the trouble of making all that stuff? Or have access to the components?
Oo I don't know about the "alien" explanation, but the lights seen over some of the circles might mean a connection to a natural phenomenon similar to "red sprites" a kind of lightning that shoots up from the tops of clouds.Current Mood: confused Current Music: (watching the Animal Planet's The Most Extreme)

And now to something even weirder, the spiritual department of paranormal research.
I'm refering specifically to the much talked about new movie "The Exorcism of Emily Rose." This is of some special interest to me since it deals with an aspect of my own faith.
That, and this movie, like "The Excorist," is based on a true story.
At least this time the film-makers got the victim's sex right. They did change the name, which doesn't bug me as much as it does with some of the critics. (It does say "based on" not "documentary of".)
The movie is particularly interesting because the case it's based on is reportedly the last time the Catholic Church officially sanctioned an exorcism. You see, the girl died during the exorcism and many people thought it was because the girl hadn't been treated medically. (They thought she was epileptic, not possessed.)
I wish I could learn more of the actual story, but there's very little out there. I've tried looking but I mainly get reviews of the movie.
Mind, I haven't seen the movie yet. Having been rather disappointed with "The Exorcist" (I partly blame poorly timed commercial breaks) I'd rather see a documentary on the real case.
But what is the real story? What I know of exorcisms one wouldn't be called without good reason. There's a rigorous verification process that's conducted before one is even considered. That's after everything else conceivable has been tried. (The boy whose story formed the basis for "The Exorcist" was in a mental hospital run by the Catholic Church during the verification process and worst parts of the exorcism.) Therefore I can only assume that she really was possessed. So did she die from the strain of having that evil spirit within her? Was there a psycho-physical condition underneath the possession?
Just thought I'd put in my own two cents on the matter.Current Mood: contemplative Current Music: (watching Animal Squad New York)

What the heck?

You aren't going to believe this. I'm not sure I do.
In 1989, in Belgium, two policemen saw a triangular platform with lights at the corners and a pulsing red orb in the center. They reported it to their dispatcher, who asked if it was Santa Claus trying to land. The policemen followed it as it approached the town. Then the dispatcher saw it.
It went away into the countryside and stopped over a wooded area. Then what looked like lasers came out of it to the ground and the orb came out, moving between the ground and the lasars as if measuring something. Then a second craft rose from some nearby trees. Both objects moved away toward another town.
In that town two more policemen saw one of the objects. They had heard of the earlier sightings, but thought it was a joke.
They weren't laughing anymore.
There were many other sightings that night and subsequent nights. A task force of sorts was organized the collect and examine the reports.
Later, airports in Belgium reported strange readings on radar. Fighter jets were deployed to locate and follow the object. Every time the jets got a lock on it, it accelerated much faster than any aircraft should be able to. It also dropped in altitude so fast that the combination would've been fatal to a human pilot.
The object continued to evade the jets each time a lock was established. Funny thing. Even though the craft exceeded the speed of sound no one on the ground reported hearing a sonic boom.
There have been many sightings in Belgium and few in neighboring countries, fueling skeptic's claims that it's all just hysteria. Yet others say whatever they are might be attracted to Belgium's highway system. Belgium's highway lights are so bright they can be seen from space.
This is so wierd. So incredibly weird. I don't know what to think, but given that this thing has been picked up on radar, seen by police, and could be tracked (more or less) it seems pretty credible.
Still, what's being described isn't "a ball of light" or a vague "shiny object" that could just as easily be some sort of ball lightning or unusually shiny but still terrestrial aircraft. This is an actual honest-to-goodness space ship. What the heck?Current Mood: confused Current Music: (watching Unsolved Mysteries)

| » auras and wierd stuff |
This bit of research came about while developing some of the world mechanics for my comic book. I figured when Giol uses his magic that it would be blue, but others would have different colors. How would that work?
Well, I figured it'd have something to do with "auras." I've heard of this, but I don't know much about it. I figured I should do some research. (Yeah, I could probably just make stuff up, but I'm a bit of a research nut and it drives me crazy when I read a story and some facts get all messed up.)
The thing is, no one seems to be able to agree on what aura colors mean. And I haven't seen anything about shapes.
White is bad, indicating someone near death.
White is good, indicating a pure soul.
Brown is obsesive compulsive.
Brown is natural and rooted.
@@ oro?
Then I took a couple quizzes.
Violets are the inspirational visionaries, leaders and teachers who are here to help save the planet. Most Violets feel drawn to educate the masses, to inspire higher ideals, to improve the quality of life on the planet, or to help save people, animals and the environment.
What Is Your True Aura Colour? brought to you by Quizilla
Your Dream's Aura is split into different shades, like a rainbow. Your open soul is flexible and broad and undetermined...the colors of life burn their respective truth-candles inside of you. Each expression depends upon the moment. In red, you can be bold. In blue...serene. It all depends. Like an explosion bursting with sparks, you can melt any obstacle. In life, your multi-faceted personality displays a rich range of moods.
Treat others well, and your aura will bloom into a rainbow nova of trust and friendship.

Uh huh. That's pretty... new agey. 9_9
Maybe I will just make something up.
You know, this stuff about auras and all might have something to it. Us humans do have electromagnetic fields around us, after all. Kinda weak fields, but they are there. I'm just not sure about this color interpretation stuff. I mean, if there was some validity, you'd think there'd be a bit more consistency in the interpretations.
But that's just me.

| » Off the wagon. |
After over six years of never touching it, six years of resisting the urge, thinking of the embarrassment that would follow if I gave in, I did it. I fell off the wagon.
I bought baby food.
Yeah. I really like baby food. I admit it. Ever since my little brother started eating solid food I haven't had any. I was torn between my desire for baby food and the embarrassment involved with putting those little jars in front of the cashier.
I mean, I'm single, I look like a teenager (even though I'm in my early twenties), and for most of those six years I *was* a teenager. So what would I be doing buying baby food?
But I gave in a couple days ago, and the scene I made was not pretty. I don't know how red I turned when the cashier got to the baby food, but I felt like a beet. I started babbling about how I like to eat baby food. The cashier seemed to understand.
Phew. ~_~U
Honestly, is it wierd for a twenty something year old woman to like baby food? (I can't believe I just called myself a woman. That is so wierd.)
