Aside from attending a lot of panels I also got some really good cosplay shots at the con.
A classic Kagura from Fruits Basket, complete with plush backpack.
My pick for all time best cosplay. Emma fits right in with the decor, doesn't she?
He's got the attitude down, now to turn down the volume on the hair!

He doesn't have the bangs, but other than that, good job!
I was supposed to be a soul reaper but the black kimono didn't turn out. Oh well, I think I look kinda cool like this.

Outside the hotel I found some fascinating architectural examples. If only the best ones had turned out.
Note, that hedge across the street does not lead to a park. It's actually someone's home. Wow, the people here must be loaded!
The hotel is even more impressive in the day time.
The hotel even comes with a park.
And it's own wildlife sanctuary.
However, it doesn't come with a number of things I've become accustomed to receiving from much **much** cheaper places. Free continental breakfast, free wireless access, more than just a few basic cable channels, all for well under a hundred bucks a night and in a room that's about the same size as the one we were crammed into.
I really don't *care* if the inaugural ball has been held here since Roosevelt! I am **not** spending 4-digits on a room that doesn't even have internet access!

Manga ... anime ... must have more.
And yet the library in this town only carries one of the series I'm interested in!
You'd think a larger town would have a larger library. Oh well.
Anyway, this post is for the benefit of a contest I entered called What's Your Obsession?

I guess right now my obsession would be anime and manga. All things mythological. Japanese history. Plushies!!!
Such a wide range of interests... Cute animal! AAAA!!!
Yes. ^^; I like cute things. But my definition of cute is a tad loose. There was this really cute little bearded dragon I wanted at the pet store, but someone bought him. T.T
The tragedies of being poor. Must get job! Job opening! Banzai! ARGH! I am so sick of filling out application forms.
Pretty fishies. I want a beta, too. And canaries, and cats, and dogs, and raccoons! And a pet squirrel! I want a zoo!

And once I have enough money I'm also going to buy a decent video editing program so I can make some more music videos. I have some great couple videos planned for Miroku and Sango. (They're such a funny couple, and get very little attention compared to Inuyasha and Kagome.)
It would be so cool if I had powers like in anime like Inuyasha. I wonder what sort of animal I'd be. Maybe a squirrel. I always wanted to be a squirrel. ^-^ Fluffy tail! I want a fox too. Today was a good day. The evening was so-so, but the day was, over all, good. ^_^ First off there was sunshine. Second, a very nice gentleman who bore a strange resemblance to a bum complimented me on my smile. (Strange how some of the nicest people I've met would, in some times and places, be called bums.)
Soon there after I had an urge to go into a resturant that was still under construction and ask for a job. I don't know where this urge came from, or why I decided to try today. I'd thought to wait until after Thanksgiving to try job hunting again.
So I walked along the side of the mall (the resturant was inside) and passed a man in a black coat talking on one of those little earpiece things. He started following me as I reached the door. When I tried it I found in locked, though I could see people working inside. The man in black approached and asked if we'd been locked out. He confirmed we were and directed me to follow him. He said something into his earpiece about being with a young lady.
I followed him around back and I discovered he worked there. He was even on the phone with the boss, who was going to be there shortly. He handed me an application and found me a spot to fill it out, surrounded by stonewall dust and half-finished electrical outlets.
About the time I finished the application, the boss showed up. He gave the ap a passing over and asked me a few questions. (Either he didn't notice or didn't care that I left the zip code off one of my employment history entries.) The questions were mainly things like "what have you done before?" Not much like the interview questions you're prepared for in job search classes.
Then he said he had space for me as a dishwasher/busser, probably on Saturdays and Sundays in the morning and afternoon though maybe other days too.
OO That fast?!
And I'll get some training next week, I'll probably get a call on Monday. And there're oportunities for advancement and getting more hours.

Not only do I have good news on the job front, but guess what came in at the library! The third Inuyasha movie *and* the eighth volume of YuYu Hakusho!! \^o^/ Yay! Kurama is so cool!
Not so great news, seems there's some wierdness with one of the tenant applications. (again ~.~) I should've known about this last week when I sent in the ap for a credit check. Instead I had to *ask* the main office about it. I got a call later that the resident has five days to fix the wierdness or they'll be evicted.
*Five* days?? Over the Thanksgiving Weekend?! Are these people nuts! Okay, granted, the tenants should've done something about this months ago, but still, *I* have to deal with them and that isn't going to be easy. ~.~ Man... I can just hear the verbal abuse now. *This* is why I don't want this job anymore.Current Mood:  well... happy, and frustrated Current Music: (watching Dirtiest Jobs) |

I can't believe the brain dead idiots at Cartoon Network!! Okay, so Adult Swim is technically seperate, but it's still a shoot off of Cartoon Network.
First they bring in this ultra stupid show called The Boondocks, but that wasn't terribly surprising considering some of their other stupid and downright tasteless programming.
Now they've cancelled Inuyasha!! Yes! INUYASHA!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR! >>.<<
I'm going to need a big pot, some roofing tar, and... darn it if only I had a feather bed.
And what did they replace Inuyasha with, you might ask? Well, they moved FMA to the 10pm slot and put reruns of Samurai Champloo in it's old 10:30 spot.
RERUNS!! Of a show they've played through at least three times!!
That's it. My theory has just been varified. There is a plot in the Cartoon Network/Adult Swim offices to sabatoge good shows. That would completely explain their previous treatment of YuYu Hakusho and their rather random treatment of Rurouni Kenshin before that. Also what they're currently doing with Gundam Seed, which seems to be running it every other week, alternating with .Hack/Legend of the Twilight Bracelet reruns. Also what they did four years ago with Tenchi in Tokyo. They pulled the show from their Toonami line up in the middle of a climactic sequence but neglected to remove the show from the website for over a month and still had clips from it in the Toonami promos.
Total ineptitude or plot? ... Well, my paternal grandpa does say never to assume malace in what can be explained by stupidity. Maybe these people are just the world's biggest bakas.
I still want to do terrible things to them. (Let's see, after the tar and feathering I could put them in shackles and parade them down the main thorough fairs. Then I'd put them in stocks and encourage people to throw rotten fruit at them. Hanging them by their toes is also a rather tempting idea.)Current Mood:  enraged Current Music: none |

You'll never see them actually dressed like this. For one thing, they live in a more medieval setting. Second, Argu's 2,000 years old, which is more equivalent to 20 years. Meaning he'd have graduated high school by now. ^_^ Anyway, it was fun to draw.

Anyway, what should I update with? Nothing is really happening here. Nightengale and I saw the latest episode of YuYu Hakusho and it was SO funny! Yusuke's back and just as crazy as before. What to update with...
The weather is unseasonably beautiful (if you've ever been in Minnesota during late fall you know what I mean) and I'm doubled over in pain.
Eve had to have commited the greater sin. There's no other explanation.
Besides that, there are two appartments that will have new tenants within a month or two.
That also means I'm going to have to clean those appartments. >.<
Thankfully, I won't be mowing (correction, asking Nightengale to mow) for a while because the cold has been inhibiting the growth of the grass.
But it's still green. It's almost Halloween and there hasn't been enough snow to even dust the sidewalk!
At least I'm nearly finished with my costume. I've been working on a Botan costume for over a year, and I think it's almost ready. Why has it been taking so long? Because I'm making the wig by hand. Out of cloth mess and blue yarn.
This had better work.
And I still don't have a paying job. There is **nothing** here.
Over saturation, my unwillingness to walk around town at night, and my lack of experience have been, I think, the major factors. I've gone over my tactics several times and I haven't been able to see anything wrong.
Neither has the councilor I've been seeing for the past month, but she's still convinced I'm doing something to sabatoge my efforts.
9_9 I'm going to this woman why? Well, I have been dealing with some depression, but this really isn't doing much good.
I'm better off solving my own problems. I'm too different from normal people for a councilor to do any good.
At least I have Mythbusters tonight to look forward to.
Urban myths getting busted, and blown up, and smashed, and otherwise mangled. Fun gallor.
Have to wait till Saturday for next YuYu Hakusho episode. That last cliffhanger was murder! Literally! AAAAAAAAA!

Most might not recognize the situation, however. It's from an AU fan fic Kittenlark is working on. (I gotta get her to let me post her work, she's BRILLIANT!)
I gotta work on some stories I've started, too. Both fan fics and original pieces. ~.~ Man. So much time, so little motivation. It was easier to write when I had school work I was supposed to be doing instead.
Maybe getting a job will help. I tried at the college today, but the only opening stopped accepting applications yesterday. AAAARRRRRRRGH!

Anyway, it's been a fairly standard day, spent time with Nightengale, made a stab at cleaning my apartment, went to Mass, and goofed off online.

I try to take a couple days off and I get sick.
And the weather's nice, too.

Anyway, I'm still working on that way of selling my artwork. My this is so complicated. @_@
Anyway, I'm considering using Cafe Press on the recommendation of my Dad. If anyone else knows anything about it, I'd sure welcome the feedback.

Well, that was a pretty serious post last time.
Now to lighten the mood a bit.
I think I have a way to sell my artwork until I can get Brigid's World up and running! No final decision has been made yet, so I'm not going to say too much. Expect more updates on this.
Of course, I rather doubt I'll make enough to live off of with this. But I might make something. That's always good.
